THOMSON, Ga. - Retired Staff Sergeant Ira M. Cole, Jr. 78, husband of the late Martha J. Cole, entered into rest Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Select Hospital, Augusta, Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday June 24, 2009, in the Bellevue Memorial Gardens Chapel with the Rev. Russell Davis officiating with full military honors. Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Mr. Cole was born in Morgantown, West Virginia and was retired from U.S. Army having served in Vietnam. He was a member and Past Commander of the Harlem VFW #6445. Survivors include one son, William L. Cole, Thomson; four daughters, Dianne (Mark) Powell, Lincolnton, Judy Graham, Silver Springs, Maryland, Jane Murray and Janet Trump of Morgantown, West Virginia; one sister, Mary Kisner, Morgantown, West Virginia and one brother Kenneth Cole, Morgantown, West Virginia; and four grandchildren, Jennifer McCall, Rachel McCall, Franklin Cole and Lonnie Trump.
