Authorities seek men in restaurant robbery

Authorities are investigating an armed robbery at an Augusta restaurant early Saturday.

An employee locking up at 1:22 a.m. at Chuck E. Cheese in the 3400 block of Wrightsboro Road was driving away when a dark green Kia Rio blocked him, according to a Richmond County sheriff's report.

Two black men exited the Kia and approached the vehicle, and one pulled out a silver handgun. The robbers told the man to enter the restaurant and open the safe.

After getting the money, the robbers drove away, headed west on Wrightsboro Road.

One robber is described as being in his mid-20s, 6 feet 3 inches tall and about 150 pounds, wearing a gray T-shirt, black shorts and black, red and white shoes.

The other man is described as being dark-skinned with a goatee, in his mid-20s, about 6 feet 1 inch tall and about 140 pounds, wearing a black shirt with a silver design and black hat.

Anyone with information can contact the Richmond County Sheriff's Office at (706) 821-1080.

Warehouse fire was caused by cigarette

Aiken County investigators have determined that a Graniteville warehouse fire Wednesday was ignited by a discarded cigarette butt.

The blaze started around 1 a.m. Wednesday at Genco Distribution Systems, a subcontractor of Kimberly Clark, in the 1000 block of Global Avenue, according to an Aiken County Sheriff's Office news release.

Investigators discovered that a cigarette butt discarded by an employee into an area of loose paper caused the fire. The fire had been investigated as arson. No criminal charges will be filed.

Graniteville-Vaucluse-Warrenville Volunteer Fire Chief Phil Napier said 50 employees were evacuated without injuries Wednesday. Water damage and lost production time could cost the company close to $1 million.

The AC continues to fall deeper and deeper into the depths of the most boring subject matter on the editorial page. One would think avoiding controversy was the primary goal of the editorial section. Why not write about prezbho appointing so many CZARs with so much power and are not accountable to anyone but him? Why not mention the inspector general fired because of doing his job reporting on the waste of federal dollars? Has the editorial page editor been muzzled?

Maybe the AC has accepted bailout money...........Maybe they will change the name to the Obama Chronicle.......Oh wait, USA Today has already done that.

It's dangerous to report on the real issues during a marxist takeover. When Hitler came to power backed by the same kind of fervor and idol worship the media had to either promote him or limit their stories to the boring trivia. Look at the demographic the AC has to contend with here. There is no way you will see any media run the headline "Obama Seizes Powers Not Granted By The Constitution" even though he has done that almost every day since his swearing in. It's too dangerous. Under Obama's new Czars and the power assumed by the FED the media could be the next industry that gets nationalized "for their own good". They have already partially accomplished with their takeover of GE who owns NBC. Will "failing" newspapers like the AC be the next takeover target. They have to silence their opposition, preferably before the 2010 elections, but definitely before 2012. I wonder what phony tactic they will use to silence FOX?

I'm wondering what this article has to do with the AC editorial page or Obama? Anyway, about Chuck E. Cheese, I don't know about robbery, but I've felt like resorting to violence in that place. I took my son to a team party there for a couple of hours and had to watch that automated show that goes on and on. I thought I would go postal, run up and punch those characters when they came around. I'll never go there sober again.

Riverman real funny.

Riverman, nothing on this page has anything to do with Obama, in fact, nothing in the paper has anything to do with what Obama is really up to. That's the point. It seems the AC is running without competent leadership. Or, maybe it's real goal is a mystery. Are we, as a community, to accept the actions of our current Marxist leader without comment? That's fine for the AP, but we expect the local editorial page to have a little more texture.

Riverman, I feel that way about Chuck E Cheese, too. Once I was looking for a business, and I went into a Chuck E Cheese to find out what their address was so I could locate the business I was looking for. A waiter gave me a Yellow Pages phone book to look up the Chuck E Cheese address. I asked him, "Should I look under R for restaurant or H for Hell on Earth?"

The whole concept doesn't make a bit of sense to me. Why do they allow parents to drink while at a family restaurant for children? I can't imagine anything more stupid than that, except allowing the children to drink, too. Considering the way the behaved the second time we were invited there for a birthday party, I wondered if they were sipping their parents' drinks, Adults shouldn't be drinking around children and considering the parents have to drive home, why would they want to?

Yeah, the Chunky C store motif is kind of weird. For Patricia, how did you end up on this article complaining about the AC? That's kind of unusual too, you know, I have to remind myself that the AC does not have to say what I would at times and not take offense personally. But at times, AC editorials bring up all kinds of words in my mind: heck, screw it, huh and more that I can't post here. :)
