APPLING, Ga. - Mrs. Helen Jowers Cox, 80, widow of Mr. Paul W. Cox, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, in the McDuffie Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Friday, June 19, in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery, Leah Ga. Mrs. Cox was a native of Richmond County, but had lived in Appling for many years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Damascus Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Patsy C. Ward. Survivors include her three sons, Mr. Alfred R. Cox, Appling, Mr. Lonnie D. Cox, Atlanta, and Mr. Benjamin M. Cox, Martinez; her sister, Mrs. Sadie Bentley, Appling; her brother, Mr. Wyman Jowers, Appling; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Curtis Funeral Home.
