CLEMSON, S.C. - Clemson wide receiver Jacoby Ford has strained his hamstring running track but should be ready to play by the time the Tigers open the football season in September.

The school said Monday that Ford hurt his hamstring during the 100-meter finals Friday at the NCAA championships.

Ford caught 55 passes for 710 yards and four touchdowns last season as a junior. He also won the NCAA 60-meter title during the indoor season and is a five-time all-American in track.

Clemson also announced Monday that redshirt freshman running back Andre Ellington had knee surgery last week to repair torn cartilage.

Both players should be back in time for the Tigers opener Sept. 5 against Middle Tennessee State.
