THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Eleanor Connors, 63, beloved wife of 38 years of Mr. Richard D. Connors, of Sagamore Dr., died Sunday, June 7, 2009, at her residence. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, in the Second Baptist Church, with Dr. Ron Drawdy and Rev. Andy Collins officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery. Mrs. Connors was a native of Richmond County, but had lived in Thomson for many years. Affectionately known as "Aunt Bug" by all her friends, she was loved by all the children who came into contact with her. She was the daughter of the late Allen K. & Catherine L. Merritt of Bath, S.C. She was a graduate of Richmond Academy and the Florida Junior College of Nursing in Jacksonville. She was a volunteer for the Lydia Project. She was a homemaker and member of Second Baptist Church of Thomson. Survivors include her husband, Mr. Richard D. Connors, Thomson; her son, Mr. Richard M. Connors, Thomson; her sister, Mrs. Catherine L. Bruce, Augusta; her two brothers, Allen K. Merritt, Thomson and Robert D. (Jane) Merritt, Augusta; and several nieces and nephews, Lisa B. (Richard) Clayton, Appling, Teresa B. Langlois, Augusta, Julie M. (Tazewell) Logue, Moore, S.C., Robert D. (Michelle) Merritt, Martinez, Joseph R. Merritt, Augusta, Douglas B. Merritt, Augusta, and Amy E. Merritt, Fayetteville, N.C.; and a host of great nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Curtis Funeral Home.
