John Eugene Kelley (GRANITEVILLE, S.C.)

GRANITEVILLE, S.C. - Mr. John Eugene Kelley, Sr., 68, beloved husband of Mrs. Carolyn E. Kelley, entered into rest Saturday, June 6, 2009 at his home. Known to his family and friends as 'Gene,' he was born in Tampa, Fla. on April 25, 1941. He was retired. In addition to his wife of 44 years, Mr. Kelley is survived by three sons, Kenneth R. Kelley (JoAnn) of Chester, Conn., Les S. Kelley (Beth) of North Augusta, S.C., and John E. Kelley, Jr. also of North Augusta, S.C.; two daughters, Cheryl K. Meeks (Terry) of Laurens, S.C. and Kimberly J. Barlett of North Augusta S.C.; one brother, Robert R. Kelley (Norma) of Laurens, S.C.; one sister, Lawanna Monte of Grady, Ala.; also his grandchildren, Melissa, Destin, Scott, Craig, Jenna, Jennifer, Josh, Eric, Kelly, Josh Jennifer, Terry, Carmen, Ashley, Amber, Tonya, and Tara; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Adell Kelley of Tampa, Fla.; his brother, Aubrey Kelley; and his sister, Nadine Komaris. The family will receive friends for a memorial service on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 4 p.m. at the residence, 309 Crystal Springs Rd., Graniteville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
