I agree completely with you. I've had nothing but excellent care there.
With all the bad publicity the VA hospitals nationwide have received during the past year, I feel compelled to write this letter about my recent experience at the Charlie Norwood VA Hospital here in Augusta.
On May 6, I had emergency surgery on my small intestine, without which I would not be writing this letter at all! The surgical team of Drs. Holstein, Hogan and Johnson literally saved my life. Their professionalism and knowledge is outstanding. The Critical Care Unit nurse Jeff, and floor nurses DuPass and Brooklyn, helped me tremendously in the post-op procedures that led to my discharge May 21.
My thanks go out to all of the staff at the hospital for making my stay during this ordeal as pleasant as possible considering the circumstances.

The VA is monitored more closely than University and MCG. They have stringent controls and report matters other hospitals wouldn't. The bottom line is that care at the VA is excellent.
The VA is socialized medicine at its finest.
I have high respect for MS. Anita, and DR B "PHD/CW"
