EVANS, Ga. - Carole E. Abramson, 74, entered into rest on Saturday May 30, 2009 at Select Specialty Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday June 3, 2009 at Platt's Funeral Home Belair Rd. chapel with Chaplain Dexter Lambert officiating. Carole was born in Nyack, NY and was a 1955 graduate of Marjorie Webster College in Washington, D.C. She was a member and past president of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She continued the legacy with her two granddaughters, Brittany and Ashley. Carole retired from the Civil Service, where she worked as the secretary for the commanding general at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center. She led a full and active life, had many friends, and loved her family. Survivors include her companion of 28 years, Dusty Smith; two sons, Robert Shellito and wife Nila of Augusta, Robin Shellito and wife Karen of Augusta; one daughter, Michele Edelmann of Martinez; one sister, Debbie Scott and husband Fred of Kennesaw, GA, six grandchildren; Brittany James, Taylor Shellito, Brendan Lopez, Ashley Lopez, Ben Hughes, Brock Hughes; and four great grandchildren, Gabe, Isaiah, Parker, and Camin Hughes. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
