Finley Wells Peel (NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.)

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mr. Finley Wells Peel, 89 of North Augusta, SC, beloved husband of sixty-two years to Mrs. Louise Christine Gregg Peel and son of the late Thomas and Mamie Wells Peel, died Saturday morning, May 30th, 2009. Born in Aiken County, SC, he had resided in Augusta, GA, for forty years prior to returning to Aiken County, SC, twenty years ago. A World War II Veteran, he proudly served his county in the United States Army. He was a Protestant and retired as a Maintenance Engineer after forty years of service with Southern Bakeries. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Jerry D. and Merry C. Peel, Lincolnton, GA, Marion E. and James W. King, North Augusta, SC and Patricia P. and Reverend J. Farron Duncan, Tabor City, NC, grandchildren L. Glenn and Patty Busbee, Kimberly P. and Rob Engle, Brian Finley Busbee, Amanda J. Busbee, Farrah D. and Colin Lasley and great- grandchildren, Tyler Busbee, Brad Busbee, Tyler Engle, Trevor Engle and Catherine Elizabeth Busbee. At his request, Mr. Peel will be cremated and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley , SC. The family respectfully request that flowers be omitted and memorials in memory of Mr. Peel be made to Church of the Holy Trinity, P.O. Box 7773, North Augusta, SC 29861.
