TALLAHASSEE, Fla. --- Georgia is back in a familiar position in the NCAA Tournament.

After an 8-2 loss to Florida State on Saturday, the Bulldogs must win three consecutive games in the next two days to reach an NCAA Super Regional next weekend.

"You never want to be in this situation, but it's one of those things where I think we play good when our backs are against the wall," said Georgia pitcher Trevor Holder, whose team faces Ohio State in an elimination game at noon today. "We've had a history of having to do that throughout every year I've been here, and every year we've made a run.

"We've just gotta come back tomorrow and play two good games and try to get to Monday and see what happens."

Florida State freshman Sean Gilmartin (12-3) outdueled Holder with a complete-game five-hitter -- his one mistake a two-run home run by former Greenbrier standout Rich Poythress in the fourth inning -- shutting down an offense that scored 24 runs and hit seven home runs against Ohio State.

Gilmartin baffled the Bulldogs, relying on an impressive changeup.

"I saw some of the replays from the (Ohio State) game last night and I noticed that most of the balls they were hitting out and hitting hard were up in the zone," Gilmartin said. "So, basically, my train of thought was to keep the ball down and use the offspeed pitch to my advantage down in the zone, and that's what happened today."

If Georgia beats the Buckeyes, they'll meet the Seminoles again at 4 p.m. today. Then they'd need to beat Florida State again on Monday night to qualify for an NCAA Super Regional next weekend.

Florida State throttled Holder to take a 4-0 lead in the first two innings. Georgia's senior (7-5) continuously went deep into counts and had already thrown 75 pitches by the end of the third inning.
