Disconnection.
I have come to the conclusion that the No Call List means absolutely nothing! I have been on it for the past two years and to no avail.
Each day I continue to receive the following calls: 8:15 a.m. "Unavailable;" 8:50, (866) 338-3549; 10:20, (202) 607-2579; 2:13 p.m., (866) 635-8661; 3:21, (866) 338-3549; 4:55, (800) 942-1970; 6:14, "Unknown Caller."
This is a daily harassment, and there must be a way to stop these unsolicited calls. Everyone I talk with has the same complaints, and the answers we are given when talking with the phone companies are, "These are computer-generated calls."
There must be an answer!

Disconnection.
Ditch that 1950's landline and get a cell phone.
I had the same problem, so I took the initiative of answering my phone. It was not an over zealous business (whatever that is); it was a charity I'd never heard of soliciting donations. I told them I wasn't interested and asked them to remove my name from their call list. Problem solved.
I answer and tell them to remove me from their list.
AT work we get tons of those calls, but they liven up my day. I'll usually press 1 to talk to a rep, and when they answer, I'll tell them "I'm really interested in your product/service, but I only want to hear about it Sunday afternoon when you're trying to spend time with your family, so can I have your home phone number"? They usually don't call us back after that.
The countermeasure to Robo-calls is the Call Block Service. I successfully use Call Block all the time. When the call block memory is full, I start over. Usually, there are not as many to add the second time around.
