AUGUSTA, Ga. - Ms. Willette M. Sanders, 65, of Chicago, Ill., entered into rest Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Heartland Hospice. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at 12 noon at Beulah Grove Baptist Church Memorial Chapel with Rev. Enoch Ward officiating. She was a native of Richmond County, Ga., a graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School in 1962, a graduate of Fisk University, Nashville, Tenn., with a B.S. degree in Sociology, and received a Master's degree in Education from National Louis University, Chicago, Ill. She was a retired teacher with the Chicago Public Schools for more than 20 years. Survivors are one daughter, Charisse Williams, Atlanta, Ga.; brothers, Rufus H. Sanders, Jr., Kenneth (Carmen) Sanders, I, both of Augusta; aunts, Mary E. Sanders, Harlem, Ga., Sarah A. Washington, Augusta; uncle, Ambrose Avery, Port Royal, S.C.; nieces, Mia Sanders, Kanika (Zeda) Stanford, Kimber Bell; nephews, Kenneth (Yolanda) Sanders, II, Kester Sanders, Kenmond Sanders; three great nieces; two great nephews; sister- in-law, Keturah M. Sanders; close friends, Fidel Campos, Chicago, Ill. and Leslie Chavous, Columbia, S.C.; and several other relatives and friends. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the employees of the MCG Cancer Center and Heartland Hospice for their loving care.
