COLUMBIA, S.C. - Clemson was knocked out of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament, but the Tigers have some baseball left.
The NCAA announced Sunday that the school will be one of its 16 baseball regional hosts. The four-team, double-elimination regional begins Friday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
The remainder of the 64-team field will be announced Monday.
South Carolina was not chosen to host a regional.
Clemson is hosting a regional for the 12th time since 1975, and the first time since 2006. It is also the 10th year Clemson has hosted a regional in Jack Leggett's 16th season as head coach of the Tigers. The Tigers are 35-7 all-time in home NCAA tournament games, including a 32-5 record under Leggett.
It's the 22nd NCAA tournament in the last 23 years for Clemson.
