AUGUSTA, Ga. - Coy Brian Beckham, 78, a native of Laurens County, GA, entered into rest on Friday, May 22, 2009, at his residence. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy during the Korean Era, and he was of the Methodist Faith. Brian was retired from Southern Machine. Mr. Beckham was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Leone Beckham; and siblings, Alton Beckham, Ellis Beckham, Agnes Hicks, and Betty Lake. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Rushin Beckham of Augusta, GA; brothers-in-law, Wallace Lake of Macon, GA, Tommy (Betty) Rushin of Edgefield, SC, and Kenneth (Ellie Ruth) McGahee of Hephzibah, GA; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Elliott Sons Funeral Home Lumpkin Road Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday, May 25, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be nephews, Billy Hicks, Bill Beckham, Steve Lake, Travis Rushin, Lance McGahee, and Tyler Rushin. The family wishes to thank Trinity Hospice, especially Amy, Lillie, and Elizabeth.
