John Henry Mims (NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.)

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mr. John Henry Mims, III, 70, of Ridge Road, entered into rest May 21, 2009. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Mims Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Limuer Myers officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Mims, a native of Aiken County, was a member and deacon of Mims Grove Baptist Church. He was also a member of Simmon Lodge 3A and the Old Macedonia Male Chorus. Survivors include his wife, Endia Mims; eight children, Argentina Mims, North Augusta, Mary (Milledge) Callaham, Trenton, S.C., Herbert Mims, North Augusta, Henry James (Machell) Mims, Graniteville, S.C., Jonathan (Katrina) Mims, Augusta, Marilyn Mims, John Allen (Kimberly) Mims, and Marcus Mims, North Augusta; three sisters, Annie M. Bell, New Haven, Conn., Willie Joe (Alex) Merriweather, North Augusta, and Juanita Mims, Augusta; one brother, Frank Mims, Augusta; seven grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. The remains will lie in state in the church from 3 p.m. until the hour of service. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 3:15 p.m. G. L.
