Harvey Pearson Purvis (CRYSTAL BEACH, Fla.)

CRYSTAL BEACH, Fla. - Harvey Pearson Purvis, Jr., age 88, of Crystal Beach, Fla., passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2009. A native of Augusta, Ga., he had resided in Florida since 1995. Harvey served in the US Marine Corp., worked for the Georgia Railroad for 42 years, and was a homebuilder. He was a member of Hill Baptist Church in Augusta. Harvey is survived by his wife of 71, years, Margaret Burton Purvis; a son, Harvey Pearson Purvis, III; daughter, Lynda Purvis Devine; daughter-in-law, Sally Plunkett Purvis; granddaughters, Rebecca Lynn Ledbetter and Margaret Jane Fink; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Harvey will be laid to rest at Curlew Methodist Cemetery in Palm Harbor, Florida.
