NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mr. Leonard H. Banister, age 64 of N. Augusta, passed away Sat., May 16, 2009. Funeral services were held 11A.M., Wed., May 20, 2009, at the Fellowship Christian Center with the Rev. Jackie Sanders officiating. Burial in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Ga. Mr. Banister was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served on the U.S.S. Saratoga CV-60. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Heather Banister; sisters, Ms. Beverley Banister, Mrs. Barbara Jenkins and Mrs. Bernice Howard; a brother, Mr. Bobby Banister; his son, Mr. Wayne Banister; daughters, Mrs. Courtney Banister and Mrs. Becky Howard. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a great-grandson; most of all his best friend, Copper.
