AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Doris W. Brooks of Augusta entered into rest May 15, 2009 at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital. She was the wife of the late Rayford Brooks. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 22, 2009 at 12 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Charles Goodman, Jr. officiating. Mrs. Brooks is a native of Augusta. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She retired from Gracewood School and Hospital. She is survived by three sons, Ronald (Vivian) Brooks, Sr., Gregory Brooks and Richard D. Brooks, Sr. and one daughter, Daphne Brooks, all of Augusta; two sisters, Evangelist Rena (Leroy) Davis of North Augusta, S.C. and Eleanor Williams Bolton of Martinez, GA.; five brothers, Frank (Pauline) Williams of Augusta, Marion (Willie Mae) Williams of Augusta, Charles Williams of Morehead, Minn., Melvin (Sylvia) Williams of Hephzibah, Ga. and Robert (Annie) Williams of Augusta; one brother preceded Mrs. Brooks in death, Thomas Williams, Jr.; one aunt, Ms. Mattie Jones of Camden, N.J.; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Juanita Murry of Augusta and Mrs. Alberta Williams of Pennsauken, N.J.; two brothers-in-law, Cecil Harris, Sr. and Grady Harris, Sr., both of Augusta; seven grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren; a loving cousin, Mrs. Mary Lee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
