MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Doris Nell Jones Carrington, age 82, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, at First United Methodist Church with burial at 3:30 PM at Rosehill Cemetery in Winder. Mrs. Carrington was a native of Statham but had made her home in Milledgeville. She was a retired executive secretary with Concord Fabrics and also did volunteer work for Oconee Regional Medical Center and was a member and longtime volunteer of the First United Methodist Church. She was the widow of the late Joseph Allen Carrington. Survivors include two sons Allen Carrington (Cindy) of Pawleys Island, SC, Mike Carrington of Thomson, daughter Diane Harrison (Alex) of Newnan, 5 grandchildren; Amanda Hendricks (Tim) of Richmond Hill, GA, Katie Joyner (Greg) of Roswell, Jac Carrington (Bett) of Columbia, SC, Taylor Carrington and Anna Carrington both of Thomson, two great grandchildren Cole and Jack Hendricks of Richmond Hill, GA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oconee Regional Medical Center Health Care Foundation 821 N. Cobb St. Milledgeville, GA 31061.
