J.B. Thompson (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - J.B. Thompson, 81, beloved husband of Alice Tennison Thompson, of Higdon St., entered into rest Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Doctor's Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at 3:00 P.M., from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with the Pastor Oscar McGee officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mr. Thompson, son of the late Fred and Annie Swint Thompson, was a native of Warrenton, GA, but had made Augusta his home for most of his life. He had worked for forty years as an auto machinist for Silbert Auto Supply and was a member of Jubliee Fellowship. In addition to his parents Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Dean Derrick. Additional survivors include his step-son and his wife, Walter and Lisa Smith of Augusta, Katherine and Al Hall; grandchildren, Bruce, Kelly and Megan Smith; and great grandchildren, Georgia Dianne Smith, Spencer Smith, Kylie Smith and Owen Dean Robertson.
