Favorite Tizdejavu wins Churchill feature

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Favorite Tizdejavu returned from a nine-month break to win the $57,780 feature race Sunday at Churchill Downs.

The 4-year-old son of Tiznow, ridden by Julien Leparoux, won by three-quarters of a length on turf in the field of seven 3-year-olds and up. He covered 1 1/16 miles in 1:42.93.

The winner of the Grade II Jefferson Cup and Grade III Crown Royal American Turf at Churchill Downs and the Grade II American Derby at Arlington Park in 2008 remains unbeaten on grass.

He paid $4.20, $3, and $2.40. Jazz in the Park, ridden by Calvin Borel, returned $3.40 and $2.90, while Boss Lafitte paid $4.40 to show.

Tizdejava, owned by Michael Cooper and Pamela Ziebarth and trained by Greg Fox, boosted his career earnings to $494,307.
