Misty Oak was third in a field of nine going a mile on a yielding course.
Ridden by Manoel Cruz, Grand Cash finished in 1:35 1/5 and paid $15.20, $5.60 and $3.80. Cinnamon Rose, at 8-5, paid $3.20 and $2.80. Misty Oak paid $3.20 to show.
Cinnamon Rose made the lead on the hedge entering the first turn with Prince Joshua second. Misty Oak was next to last, followed by Grand Cash. Cinnamon Rose easily moved away from Prince Joshua at the half-mile pole and appeared in total control turning for home. At that point Grand Cash was still last.
The favorite opened a five-length lead in midstretch with Grand Cash making a huge run in the middle of the track. He blew past Cinnamon Rose just before the wire. His momentum carried him to a half-length victory. Misty Oak closed well for third, 3 1/2 lengths farther back.
Grand Cash, a Kentucky-bred son of Belong to Me owned by Douglas Gibson, has won four of 13 starts and $76,855.
