Augusta Prep wins to reach final four

In Albany, Ga., after being shutout in the first half, Augusta Prep rallied in the second half to beat Deerfield-Windsor 4-2 on Saturday in the second round of the GISA Class AAA playoffs.

With the win, the Lady Cav-aliers advance to the GISA Class AAA Final Four where they will face First Presbyterian Day on Thursday at Stratford Academy in Macon.

Augusta's game on road is suspended

In Asheville, N.C., rain halted the GreenJackets' game with the Tourists on Saturday in the top half of the fourth inning with Asheville leading 3-1.

The game will be completed prior to today's game.

College Baseball

Bulldogs swept by Gamecocks on road

In Columbia, Nick Ebert homered for the third day in a row and South Carolina broke open a close game with four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to beat struggling Georgia 6-1 and earn a three-game sweep.

Former Greenbrier star Nolan Belcher earned the win on Friday, setting a career high with 11 strikeouts without giving up an earned run in 6Q innings.

South Carolina is seeded fifth in next week's SEC Tournament. The Bulldogs will be the sixth seed.

- In Raleigh, N.C., Wilson Boyd had two hits and two RBI and Chris Epps added a solo homerun and Clemson edged N.C. State 5-4 to earn the sweep.

The Tigers ended the regular season on a five-game winning streak.

- In Durham, N.C., Jake Lemmerman 's two-run homer broke a 3-3 tie in the seventh inning and lifted Duke (34-22, 15-15 ACC) to a 5-3 win over Georgia Tech (34-15-1, 17-10-1).

College Lacrosse

Syracuse, Cornell advance to semis

Defending national champion Syracuse advanced to the NCAA men's lacrosse semifinals, defeating Maryland 11-6.

Cornell beat Princeton 6-4 to reach the semifinals for the second time in three years.

Tennis

Nadal rallies to top Djokovic in Madrid

In Madrid, top-ranked Rafael Nadal saved three match points before beating Novak Djokovic 3-6, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (9) to reach the Madrid Open final.

Nadal reached his seventh final this season after a 33rd consecutive win on clay.

On the women's side, top-ranked Dinara Safina beat Patty Schnyder 6-4, 6-2 to set up a final against Caroline Wozniacki , who advanced with a 7-6 (1), 6-3 victory over Amelie Mauresmo .

Cycling

Italian adds to lead in Giro's 8th stage

In Bergamo, Italy, Kanstantsin Siutsou, of Belarus, won the eighth stage of the Giro d'Italia in a late solo breakaway, and Danilo Di Luca , of Italy, added eight seconds to his overall lead by finishing third.

Di Luca leads Thomas Lovkvist, of Sweden, by 13 seconds in the overall standings, with Michael Rogers, of Australia, third, 44 seconds back. Lance Armstrong 's Astana teammate Levi Leipheimer was fourth, 51 seconds behind.

Armstrong and Leipheimer remained 25th overall, 4:39 behind Di Luca.

Soccer

Manchester United claims another title

Manchester United won the Premier League for the third consecutive season after a 0-0 tie with Arsenal. United needed a point to clinch the title. The draw at Old Trafford put the championship out of reach for second-place Liverpool, which is seven points behind with two games left.

l Inter Milan became the first club in more than 50 years to win four consecutive Serie A titles in a row when AC Milan lost to Udinese 2-1.
