PERKINS, Ga. - Clarence Travis Overstreet, 56, of Perkins, died Wednesday, May 14, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Jenkins County, a retired heavy equipment operator for Burke County after 30 years and he was a Baptist. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at the Green Fork Baptist Church with Dr. Ray Freeman and Rev. Jeff Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include his fiance, Lucille Stewart; three sons, Jim P. Stewart of Perkins, C. Travis Overstreet Jr., and James William (Ikey) Overstreet of Springfield, NC; a daughter, Kaye Thomas of Perkins; two sisters, Mary Hunter of Waynesboro and Betty Jean Overstreet of Stockton; four brothers, Edward Overstreet of Perkins, Dusty and James Overstreet of Millen and Dorsey Overstreet of Perkins; eleven grandchildren and a great grandchild. Active Pallbearers will be Kenny Overstreet, Jimmy Overstreet, Billy Overstreet, Steve Sikes, Danny Miles, and John Atkinson.
