MATTHEWS, Ga. - Mr. Pilcher L. James, 83, son of the late Silas James and Beatrice Arrington James, entered into rest Monday May 11, 2009 at his residence. Graveside services will be held at Wrens Memorial Cemetery on Wednesday May 13, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Jason Burton officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. May 12, 2009 at the funeral home. Mr. James was preceded in death by his sister, Velma Thompson. Mr. James was retired as a carpenter and was a member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army where he fought in War World II. Survivors include his children, Phyllis D. (Joe) Worley, Hephzibah, Ga., Wanda (Jimmy) Baker, Matthews, Ga., Danny B. James and Jerry P. James, both from Blythe, Ga.; a brother, D.J. James, Thomson, Ga.; two sisters, Raydell Kirchner, Keysville, Ga. and Bobbie Dixon, Wrens, Ga.; five grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.
