BEECH ISLAND, S.C. - Funeral Services for Mrs. Martha Hogan McElmurray, 82, of Pine Log Road, Beech Island, SC, who entered into rest May 7, 2009, will be conducted Monday morning at 11 o'clock from the First Baptist Church of Beech Island. Dr. J. Andrew Menger officiating. Interment in Hammond Cemetery. Mrs. McElmurray was a native of North Augusta, having made Beech Island her home for the past 62 years. She was a graduate of the North Augusta High School, attended Augusta Junior College and was a graduate of Limestone College. Mrs. McElmurray was a member of First Baptist Church of Beech Island where she had served as the youth director for many years, a member and past President of the Beech Island Garden Club and a Charter Member of the Beech Island Historical Society. Mrs. McElmurray was the wife of the late Mr. John Edward McElmurray, Sr. and mother of the late Linda Lucille McElmurray. Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, John & Claire McElmurray, Augusta, Gary & Lisa McElmurray, Beech Island, Furman and Linda McElmurray and Paul & Dana McElmurray, all of Martinez; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn & David Menger, Beech Island, Lisa & Kevin Kelly, Martinez; a daughter-in-law, Christine R. McElmurray, Martinez; a sister, Alma Holston, Ridge Spring, SC; fifteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mark Baynham, Craig Baynham, John Columbus, Stephen Hogan, Grae Holston and Ricky Holston. The family wishes to express gratitude to Mrs. McElmurray's caregivers, Mignon Lattimore, Mary Mims and Mary Alice Anderson.
