Rants and Raves

Comments from our readers:

I THINK THEY should put sidewalks over by Lakeside High School so the kids and other people walking don't have to walk around in that wet morning grass and possibly get sick ... or ruin a good pair of sneakers!

TO ALL CAT LOVERS. Cats turned loose are pests and should be picked up by the animal control and disposed of. If you love your cat, be nice and keep it away from your neighbors and animal control won't pick it up.

RANTS TO President Barack Obama's decision not to schedule a formal prayer service at the White House on the occasion of the National Day of Prayer Thursday.

TO THE WOMAN I pulled in front of this morning, Wednesday, I am so sorry that I almost caused you to wreck, and I put many in danger. I was totally wrong and really am glad you were quick of mind to totally hold the brakes and kept from hitting me or someone else. I ask you to forgive me. It will clearly cause me to be ever more watchful. I assumed that the light for my lane was green as many were turning right and I did not check the light, just went with the flow. I really am sorry.

RANT TO THOSE WHO fail to support law enforcement officers doing their part to ensure a safe and secure society. Wonder why there is a major shortage of police in America now?

A RANT TO THE person that said: "There's a Republican hater sending in rants." What a joke; the GOP is nothing but hate.

THANK YOU TO the Augusta Ballet for bringing the world-class Aspen Santa Fe Ballet to Augusta. A packed house was treated to an amazing night of dance. Who says the arts aren't alive and well in Augusta? Bravo, Augusta Ballet!

A MULTIMILLION-DOLLAR deal to appease members of a west Augusta community? Notice how everything nowadays is politics? Schools, medicine, even the weather. None of this stuff used to be considered government's business, because it wasn't -- and isn't! And the old way worked! Why the change? Greedy politicians.

WHY DOES COLUMBIA COUNTY not have black representation in government and black coaches in the school system? Columbia County needs to be investigated.
