The bottom line

Liberals seized upon what they thought was an "aha" moment last year, when word got out about the out-of-wedlock pregnancy of Bristol Palin, 18-year-old daughter of Alaska Gov. and GOP vice-presidential hopeful Sarah Palin. So much for conservative family values, they snorted.

Now the "aha" moment has become a teachable moment, with Bristol making the rounds nationally as a spokeswoman for the Candie's Foundation to educate girls about the reality of teen pregnancy.

The message: Motherhood is tough; it's even tougher if you're a teen. But Miss Palin says she has lovingly embraced her new motherhood with no regrets.

On this Mother's Day, we should remember that motherhood is not merely a biological circumstance. It's a moral responsibility. A philosophy. A privilege. An opportunity, even when unexpected, that should not be squandered.

Mothers, enjoy your day today.

The primary aspect of Bristol

The primary aspect of Bristol Palin's motherhood is that the taxpayer isn't picking up the tab for the delivery, care, and financial support of the child. The part that irks the left the most is that Bristol didn't kill her baby. The pro-abortion left was thwarted again.

What a crock of hypocritical

What a crock of hypocritical B.S.!! The only reason that Miss Bristol is out there is because her mom has political aspirations. Why has the holier than thou blocked the father from being a father? To me, he is much more impressive than she.

This girl is off to a bad

Unpublished

This girl is off to a bad start. Her mother is completely fake and both are using the "media" to further personal goals. The daughter gets pregnant while in high school, the all-white media treats it like a positive development, but constantly chant that minority girls are having too many kids. Wow! What a bunch of racist hypocrits! Why didn't she just say NO? Where are the values? Fact is, these people have low morals and this girl demonstrates it. Nothing else need to be said, just observe their behavior.

Actions speak louder than

Actions speak louder than words. Ms Palin values her child's life more than inconvenience of unplanned pregnancy. All decent people should encourage young people to make a best choice possible even in a difficult situation.

I still have no idea why

I still have no idea why people, particularly liberals in general, are so obsessed with Bristol Palin's teenaged out-of-wedlock pregnancy and childbirth. Bristol Palin is not a politician. She is not running for public office. Neither is her baby son nor ex-boyfriend Eli. So who cares what she does? Ms. Palin's parents told her, "Don't have sex until you're married," but she and Eli didn't follow directions. Happens all the time. Liberals talk about "sexual freedom" but when a conservative politician's child practices what liberals preach, those same liberals make a sudden about-face in values they hold dear. Make no mistake, if one of a certain prominent politician's two daughters did the same thing in her teenage years, the liberal media would praise the family for their "courage" in making "difficult choices and facing challenges head-on." And the liberal media would not say a single negative thing about the girl or the fix she and her boyfriend got themselves in. C'mon, you know it's true. In the meantime, I could care less what any politician's kid does, because I have a life. Which I'm getting back to right now. Happy Mother's Day, everyone.

Sorry, I couldn't resist this

Sorry, I couldn't resist this addendum: to sum up my previous paragraph, if a liberal does a naughty thing, liberals -- particularly in the media -- say that one should be kind to this liberal person. He or she is only human, don't throw stones, don't pass judgment, nobody's perfect, be generous with your forgiveness, everybody makes mistakes, blah blah blah. But if a conservative commits an identical act of naughtiness, the gates of hell are opening up to receive this conservative person, who is a demon straight outta Hades, who is a hypocrite, who should be stoned, hanged, drawn, quartered, pilloried, branded with a scarlet letter, deserves no mercy or forgiveness, should be judged by the harshest standards possible, blah blah blah. But of course, this does not reflect any sort of a double standard; liberals -- particularly in the media -- are merely speaking objectively in the interests of fairness and justice. C'mon, you know it's true. Once again, Happy Mother's Day to all of you out there in cyberland.
