AUGUSTA, Ga. - Curtis Albert Lockamy, Sr., 76, beloved husband of Betty Strickland Lockamy of 58 years entered into rest Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Trinity Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, May 11, 2009 at 2:00 P.M., in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Reverend Marion Jay officiating. He was preceded in death by his son David 'Wayne' Lockamy, sisters, Christine Kelly and Alice Watson and a brother, Kenneth Lockamy. Other survivors include his sons, Curtis A. Lockamy, Jr., and his wife Deborah, Ray Lockamy and his wife Sue and Charles Thompson; daugthers; Janice Holton and Patricia Lockamy; sister, Louise Arrants; daughter-in-law, Marchie Lockamy; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Lockamy was born in Columbia, SC to the late James and Irma Deketeleare Lockamy. He retired after 30 years with the Richmond County Tax Assessors Office. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
