BUFORD, Ga. - Mr. Arthur Glisson, age 77, of Buford, GA passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2009. He is survived by: his wife of 59 years, Mrs. Dolores Spires Glisson, Buford, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Audrey Glisson, The Woodlands, TX, and Daina and Mark McHugh, Powder Springs, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Auby and Theresa Glisson, Douglasville, GA, Glenn and Apple Glisson, Philippines, and Gary and Maria Glisson, Lawrenceville, GA; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and sisters, June Dessi, Italy, and Joyce Matoba, Stone Mountain, GA. Mr. Glisson was born October 10, 1931 in Augusta, GA; He was a 1949 graduate of Richmond Academy in Augusta, GA and he attended college in Boling Green, KY where he received his degree in accounting. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps. He was a retired comptroller with National Forestry after ten years of service. He was a Mason and a member of the Yaarab Shrine Temple in Atlanta, GA. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Buford, GA. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Copeland officiating. Interment and Graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Arrangements by: Junior E.
