AUGUSTA, Ga. - Nancy Mills Griffey, 52, entered into rest on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Doctor's Hospital with family by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, C.W. and Susie Mae Mills, husband, Steven L. Shaffer, and nephew, Matthew Burnside. Nancy was a very strong and loving woman, who expressed herself artistically and spiritually. She is survived by her sons, Anthony (Heather) Reese of Harlem, GA, Todd Griffey of Augusta, GA; siblings, Phyllis Mills Landers of Martinez, GA, Brenda Mills Drews of Waynesboro, GA, Betty (Billy) Hall of Beech Island, SC, and Clifford W. (Rosa) Ward of Harlem, GA; grandchildren, Amanda Leah Reese, Erika Reese, and Hunter Reese; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Tony Reese, Todd Griffey, Buddy Snipes, Philip Henschel, Brian Wingate, Chris Janes, Phillip Patterson, David Mitchell, and James Bush. Funeral services will be held 2:00p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Elliott Sons Telfair Street Chapel with Pastor Jesse France officiating.
