Grovetown police are true professionals

Since moving here last summer, I have been very impressed with the Grovetown police and their dedication to safety in front of Grovetown Middle School each morning during student drop-off times.

Their commitment to citizen safety was shown again during a potentially dangerous situation recently in our neighborhood, Pepperhill, where two aggressive pit bulls were on the loose.

I wanted to commend the two officers from our police department and the men from Animal Control for their diligent efforts. They worked for several hours trying to capture these dogs after the dogs had attacked and killed a neighborhood pet. Even after hours in the hot sun, these officers were still being kind, patient and humane in their task.

All of these guys are reminders of what true public service jobs are about, and I greatly appreciate each of them.

Tracy Ledford, Grovetown

Wow, must have some real men

Wow, must have some real men over there in Grovetown. Not like the overweight slobs from Richmond County that patrol downtown. Did you see those guys on First Friday standing around looking stupid? You think the least they could do is direct traffic so people could safely cross the street from the parking area between Reynolds and Riverwatch over by the commons. Instead, standing around gabbing like a bunch of old ladies. My favorite one is the really heavy guy who uses his side arms as arm rests, like it's too much trouble to hold his arms up. No wonder we have so many muggings down town.
