Communists are right under our noses

What exactly about this two sentence "letter to the editor" merits publications.? What facts support this paranoid accusation? The three politicians named by Robert Manning like almost all members of the House of Representatives and especially the Senate are mainstream American ESTABLISHMENT politicians who have done quite well for themselves within the capitalist system. There are maybe one or two socialists in Congress. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont is a socialist. Rep. Spencer Bachus, an Alabama Republican, claims there are 17 socialists in Congress (out of 535 U.S. Representative and Senators) but he refuses to name them. There are exactly ZERO communists in Congress.

every person/entity who takes something they haven't earned is a socialist which is about 50% of our population, and 100% of our politicians just use that to their advantage to get re-elected

Senator Joe McCarthy was, indeed, right - this letter to the editor notwithstanding.

You are leaving out out 2 SOCIALIST Senators Johnny and Saxby. Both of these crooks voted for TARP and Saxby's son is a LOBBYIST.

So many crazies listening to Limbaugh, Beck, Savage, O'Reilly and KKKanity, if they say the world is about to end, people like the LTE writer will be first to agree.

Only the people that never observe the actions of the people listed would disagree with the LTE. I feel it doesn't name enough people and leaves out a plethora of Repubs. Those defending the actions of the hard left are the easily tricked and one would expect them to write this way, otherwise they wouldn't be Dems.

If the minorities as seen in justus4's eyes were as bad off, persecuted as he deems this would indeed be a very sad and conflicted world. So look at the last 30 years justus4 and honestly state who has become the minorities?? On a more serious note, it is worth remembering that McCarthy was from Wisconson and thus ate too much cheese. He had a gay blade for an assistant, who was also a Jew. Now the South loves the guy because he weeded out the Commies. And in the end, Mr. McCarthy was ridiculed by his own party and his peers as a nutbag. But there are a lot of nutbags in this great country. It would be a Utopian Camelot, if they had never surfaced.

Senator Spector of PA (and the infamous single bullet theory in the JFK assassination) has just left the GOP ranks because his party has moved too far right (ya, right off the cliff). Most people will say that PA is moving Democratic; but Spector was always a moderate Republican. And God knows we do not need any moderate thinkers on the Religious Right. Got to toe the Limbaugh line and the Faux Noise Fair & Unbalanced line. Faux is not even televising the President's News conference/speech tomorrow.
