NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mr. George F. Black, Jr., of W. Five Notch Rd., entered into rest Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the Veterans Hospital. Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 4 p.m. at Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Paul F. Noe and Rev. Ray Cleveland officiating. Masonic Rites and Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside. Mr. Black was born May 4, 1946 and was a Journayman Carpenter. He was a past Master of the Belvedere Masonic Lodge, Honorary member of Acacia Lodge, and presently Master Shepherd Masonic Lodge of Trenton. Survivors include his mother Elsie Black of North Augusta; his life partner of 37 yrs, Rose Reynolds; two sons: George F. (Dugan) Black III, North Augusta, Frankie (Debbie) Reynolds, Jacksonville, FL; three daughters: Connie (William) Phillips, Waynesboro, GA, Tina (Wayne) Anderson, Augusta, GA, Cara (Douglas) Faulkner, Keysville, GA; a sister, Joyce (Gary) Stevens, North Augusta; 19 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews. Pallbearers will be members of Belvedere & Trenton Masonic Lodges. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeremy Phillips, Frankie Reynolds III, Benjamin Faulkner, Tony Daughtry, & Michael Phillips. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday afternoon from 1p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children Hospital, 950 W. Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605. Rowland Funeral Home of North Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
