Robert Wayne Shaffer (APPLING, Ga.)

APPLING, Ga. - Robert Wayne Shaffer, 78, entered into rest, April 17, 2009, at his home in Appling, Ga. He is survived by his loving wife Diane Shaffer. A celebration of life service will be conducted at Damascus Baptist Church, Appling, Ga., Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 3 P.M. Reverend Joe Hester officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Shaffer was born in Kokomo, Indiana. He Retired from the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He retired as a buyer for Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Beech Island, SC. He later formed his own company, RS Services, to continue consulting work for the Kimberly Clark locations through out the country. He was blessed being a member of the loving church family at Damascus Baptist Church. Mr. Shaffer was the son of the late Homer V. Shaffer, whom he lost at a young age, mother and step-father the late Elsie and Raymond Branch. Preceded in death by his sister, Gracia Sparks, son-in-law, Ira Andrews and his former wife, Bobbie Shaffer, mother of their surviving children. Debbie Andrews, Augusta, Ga., Robin Cushman (Fred), Beech Island, SC, Robert Shaffer, Jr., (Tracey), Grovetown, Ga. Surviving also are his step- children, Diana Ramsey (Jeff), Lowell, NC, Jason Robinson (Ann), North Augusta, SC. Grandchildren: Hope Gevedon (Shawn), Tamarra Andrews, Katie & Lindsey Shaffer, Charles Robinson (Marisol), Steven Knight, Paul Viers III, William Viers. Great-grandchildren: Christian Gevedon, Angle Villela, Diana Robinson, Kimberly Robinson, Charles James Robinson. His sisters Delores Tull (Wilfred), Kokomo, Indiana, Mary Jane Cardwell, Montecello, Indiana, Connie Hinkle, Sweetwater, TN, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the Church's Welcome Center. Memorials maybe made to: Damascus Baptist Church: Youth Fund , 6375 Ridge Road, Appling, GA 30802
