HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Mr. Franklin Brown of Dunson Drive entered into rest on Sunday, April 19, 2009 at his residence. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Belle Terrace Presbyterian Church, USA, with Rev. Melvin G. Lowry officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park with full military honors. Mr. Brown, a native of Hollywood, SC, was retired from the U.S. Army as Staff Sergeant after twenty two years of service. He was also retired from Richmond County Board of Education and was employed at the V.A. Medical Center. As a member of Belle Terrace. Presbyterian Church, Mr. Brown served as a member of the Sanctuary Choir, Usher Board, and Men's Council. Survivors are his wife, Marcia Brown; sons, Tyrone (Cinda) Brown, Timothy Brown, Joseph (Anna Torre) Leverett, Augusta; daughter, Melissa Dawson, Griffin, GA; brothers, John (Lynn) Scott, Jr., N. Charleston, SC, Edward (Doreen) Brown, Philadelphia, PA, Frank Gardner, Jr., Hollywood, SC, Kenneth (Helen) Gardner, Pensacola, FL; sisters, Beulah Scott, Essie Mae Rutledge, Walterboro, SC, Luretha White, N. Charleston, SC, Terry LeBlanc, Moncks Corner, SC, Maple Brown, N. Charleston, SC, Lucrichia (George) Johnson, Decatur, GA, Ruth (Anthony) Jackson, Barbara (King) Frasier, Charleston, SC, Marissa (Isaac) Ladson, Ravenel, SC, Annette Gardner, Bloomington, MN, Gail M. Scott, Meggett, SC; eleven grandchildren; and a host of other relatives. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
