MOORE, S.C. - Maxine Wright Wade, 92, died Monday, April 20, 2009 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born August 21, 1916, in Chapmansville, WV, she was the daughter of the late Sanford and Amma Wright and the widow of James Paul Wade. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and the Chreitzberg- Lydian-Lanham Sunday School Class. Mrs. Wade was a product of West Virginia and proud of her mountain heritage. She was also a long-time resident of North Augusta, SC, where she had many friends. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine. In recent years, she lived in the Spartanburg area and grew very fond of the Upstate and her friends and acquaintances in the area. Her pride was greatest in the products of her kitchen, her daughter, and her grand-children and great grand-children. Survivors include her daughter, Jean Wade Palmer and husband Gerald Palmer of Moore; two grandchildren, Heather Palmer Foster and her husband Brian, of Dunn, NC, and Jonathan Wade Palmer, of Knoxville, TN; two great- granddaughters, Elizabeth Jean Foster and Palmer Davis Foster, of Dunn, NC; a niece, Annette Kirk, of Las Vegas, NV; and two special friends, Kate Ann White, of North Augusta, SC, and Lois Poss Feguer, of Mount Pleasant, SC. She was predeceased by two brothers, Palmer Wright and Claude Wright. A memorial service will be conducted at Bethel United Methodist Church, in the Wallace Fridy Chapel, at 4:00pm on Thursday, April 23, 2009, conducted by Rev. David Nichols. Burial and a graveside service will be conducted in North Augusta, SC, at the Pineview Memorial Gardens, on Friday, April 24, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. T. Joseph Lusk officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice Division, Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Foundation, 101 E. Wood St., Spartanburg, SC 29303, or to Bethel United Methodist Church, 245 S. Church St. Spartanburg, SC 29306, in honor of the Hearing Impaired Sound System. The family is at their respective homes. Rowland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
