All humility and no pride?

We understand he's reaching out. We understand he wants to soften America's image and show the world he can listen. And we support that.

But why didn't President Obama defend his country even just a little at the Summit of the Americas, in the face of a torrent of abuse from Latin American despots and leftists who make a living out of making the United States into the devil?

Nicaraguan leader Daniel Ortega trashed America for nearly an hour. Not a peep out of our president.

At least argue the point!

We fear Mr. Obama's gentility and lack of gumption will be viewed as naivete at best, weakness - or, at worst, tacit agreement.

Has it never occurred to Mr. Obama that the countries that seem to hate the United States the most have some of the worst records on freedom and human rights? Or does he just accept all criticism of America as valid, regardless of the source?

Or worse - does he agree with it?

Probably no one in history has said worse things about the United States more often than Hugo Chavez, yet Obama treated him like an old friend. And reports indicate Chavez is already using the warm meeting with Obama to legitimize his own despotic rule in Venezuela.

What Mr. Obama doesn't seem to realize is that some leaders don't hate us because we deserve to be hated, but because it behooves them to make us the enemy.

"President Chavez's whole foreign policy is predicated on challenging U.S. leadership," Jennifer McCoy, director of the Carter Center's Americas Program, acknowledged to reporters.

"I think most political advisers would tell the president, you know, it's fine to shake hands - hold the smiles," said CNN commentator David Gergen.

We hope the president's charm offensive pays off. But we fear he's too caught up in being liked rather than respected.

Obama's seemingly endless

Obama's seemingly endless apology tours reflect on him, not the country. Europeans snicker when they refer to him as Boring Obama and Borrowing Obama. Caribbean and South American and middle east dictators love him though. As long as our metro president continues to act from a testicle free zone, he'll be loved, but not respected. Let's hope he grows a pair before he precipitates a Carter or Clinton situation.

Those same Latin America

Those same Latin America despots will beg for help when natural disasters strike their country and we'll rush to deliver that. Obama suffers from some serious mental defects, anyone who strives to be "loved" as much as he needs it is not playing with a full deck. The sooner Obama displays the Carter syndrome, the sooner he'll be impeached. We can not imperil this nation another 3 1/2 years by this eunuch.

America has a pretty terrible
Unpublished

America has a pretty terrible history on freedom and the president's action were appropiate. Some Americans have a terrible memory and then it's selective at that. The world knows American history, probably better that most Americans and the president understands something complex that shallow individuals can't comprehend without help. His results will be measureable different than others, by not conducting diplomacy in the non-minority media.

Some of these leaders hate

Some of these leaders hate us. There is nothing we can do about it. Whether we smile and shake their hand or ignore them, they are still gonna hate us. Perhaps all of this just a diversion away from the runaway spending. That is what we really need to be focused on.

How does anyone defend justus? If I turned every article into a racist issue, I would expect racist discussion. I don't know if Obama intends to show humility but I do find him humilating.

These other countries love

These other countries love Obama because he is taking the world super power and lowering it to their status. Everyone always dislikes the big dog because they want everything the big dog has. The easiest thing to do is to bring the big dog down because it it too difficult or impossible to raise themselves up. Justus has this same problem which is why he constantly post the words he posts. If there is something out there that makes you look bad or less make it the bad guy and hopefully people will begin to see it your way if you say it enough. If everyone really hated the US like they pretend to, there would not be so many people wanting to move here.

2tired, I was at a Healthcare

2tired, I was at a Healthcare conference in DC a few months ago. One of the speakers was an Olympic coach during the games in China. He spoke of the way the US delegation was treated in China by the fans and other athletes. He said they had the utmost respect for the US and that the US always got the loudest applause. I don't believe this crap about the world hating the US. The world's leaders may, but not the people.

Most have realized that

Most have realized that everything has to be about prezbho. He is an arrogant, self-absorbed, incompetent, and unqualified politician who continues to campaign because he has absolutely no idea of how to do the job. He continues to make promises and use the same-o rhetoric with no substance.

So true converted. He doesn't spend enough time in the oval office to read a bill. He checks in long enough to sign them though. Then it's time to hit the road again.

He probably would have had a chance to talk about political prisoners or the importance of drug control, if "W" had freed the two Border patrol agents who were wrongfully imprisoned for shooting a Mexican drur agent. BTW who was Mexico's best friend during the last 8 years and what did that person accomplish? Get real. If we are going to bash anyone then bash the guy who brought about all these unbalanced trade agreements with latin america that we are saddled with, or did you already forget and forgive him.
