AUGUSTA, Ga. - Dr. Daksha B. Chudgar, 57, entered into rest on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at her residence. She was a beloved wife to Dr. Bipin Chudgar for 31 years. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the Columbia Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her parents, Champak and Kanta Patel, her mother-in-law Radha Chudgar, and her children, Reena, Pranav and Shubha. She is further survived by two sisters, two brothers, their spouses, and a host of nieces and nephews. Daksha, a native of Baroda, India, received her medical degree at Baroda Medical College, completed her residency in OBGYN in New York and her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at the University of Louisville, KY. She has since had a successful and fulfilling medical career in Augusta, GA. She dedicated her life to her family, her patients and her passion for academia. Daksha committed herself to serving her community, offering unconditional support to friends and strangers alike. She found pride in her work and always looked forward to lending a helping hand both personally and professionally, touching many lives. It was no surprise that she was still quizzing her son about medical diagnoses just a few days before her passing. Even through her last days, Daksha's strength, love and encouragement to her family was an inspiration to all. Daksha will be dearly missed and her memory will be cherished forever by her family and friends.
