JOHNSTON, S.C. - Mr. Dennis A. Friar, 67, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 18, 2009. Funeral Services for will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 11 am at Providence Baptist Church with burial to follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Bland Funeral Home Monday evening from 6-8 pm. Memorials may be made to Providence Baptist Church , c/o Deborah Hipps, 288 Long Cane Road, Johnston, SC 29832. Mr. Friar, a native of Johnston, was a son of the late Willie and Sallie Thomas Friar. He was a retired Technician with Southern Bell, was a former Volunteer Fireman with Eureka Fire Department and an active member of Providence Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife: Pat Anderson Friar; daughters: Denise Rozelle (Reggie) and Wendy Baggott; sisters: Sarah Mae Wyndham (Mac) and Ecie DeLaughter (Marion); brothers: Joe Friar (Frankie) and Tommy Friar (Linda); grandchildren: Brandon and Kevin Hudson and Shawn McNeill.
