MCCORMICK, S.C. - Jane Seigler Franklin, 81, resident of 1007 Ellison Street, wife of John H. 'Buck' Franklin, Sr., died April 16, 2009 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood. Born in McCormick, November 11, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Alonza and Agnes Brown Seigler. She was a graduate of McCormick High School and retired as manager of Ye Old Grocery. Mrs. Franklin was an avid gardener and yard keeper. She was an exceptional, all around, wonderful wife, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Plum Branch Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to her husband of 64 years of the home, are two sisters, Mary Lou McDaniel of Plum Branch and Billie Jean Bertzfield of Thompson, GA; three brothers, Merle Seigler of Augusta, GA, Pete Seigler and Jimmy Seigler, both of Plum Branch; her daughter-in-law, Dolly Pettigrew Franklin of McCormick; granddaughters, Renea F. Bundrick of McCormick and Buffey F. Shorter of Saluda; a grandson, John Henry Franklin, III of Greenwood; three great-grandchildren, Whitney 'Nicole' Brown, Cathlin Olivia Bundrick and John Thomas Bundrick. Mrs. Franklin was predeceased by both of her sons, John H. 'Johnnie' Franklin, Jr. and Roger Dean Franklin. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in Overbrook Cemetery with Rev. John Noblin and Rev. Kenneth Boone officiating. Pallbearers will be Edward Timmerman, Scott Seigler, Eddie Seigler, Chris Bundrick, Jeff Brown and Robert 'Zeb' Shorter. The body is at Blyth Funeral Home in Greenwood where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Friday evening. The family is at the home on Ellison Street.
