Henry Edward Banks (HEPHZIBAH, Ga.)

HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Mr. Henry Edward Banks of Creekview Court entered into rest on Friday, April 10, 2009 at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Good Samaritan Baptist Church wtih Rev. Dr. Robert W. Turner, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park with full military honors. Mr. Banks, a native of Charlotttesville, VA, retired from the U. S. Army as Sergeant First Class after twenty one years of service and retired from civil service as DIAL Central Office Supervisor at Ft. Gordon. He was a member of Good Samaritan Baptist Church where he served as a trustee and member of the Senior Mission. Mr. Banks was also volunteer/supervisor of Master Table Soup Kitchen/Golden Harvest Food Bank and volunteet with the Richmond County Animal Shelter. Survivors are his wife, Anna Banks; son, Charles Banks, Las Vegas; godson, Christopher Walton, Hephzibah; one sister, Elsie (Ray) Arnete, Louisa, VA; brothers, James Banks, Lusdy, MD, Joe Henry Banks (Renee), Washington, DC, Donald Harris, Louisa, VA, Russell (Doris) Banks, King George, VA; host of nieces, nephews; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law in Europe and Germany. devoted friend, Curtis (Marion) Holland, Augusta; devoted goddaughter, Shirley Thomas, Grovetown, GA.
