MARTINEZ, Ga. - Dixon Dwight Plyler, 74, entered into rest on Wednesday, April 1, 2009. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:30 p.m., Friday, April 17, 2009 at Elliott's Columbia Road Chapel with Pastor Alvin Jones officiating. In addition to serving in the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Plyler retired from Fort Gordon as a Director of Basic Electronics Training. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Forest Hills Golf Club. Mr. Plyler attended In-Focus Church and Freedom Bible Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight and Grace Plyler. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Chrisann Plyler of Martinez, GA, children, Michael, Timothy, Christie, Doreen, Dwight (Shawna), and Donald; sister, Dinah (Billy) Bunn of Aiken, SC; brothers, David (Susan) Plyler of Columbia, SC, and Dan (Peggy) Plyler of Aiken, SC; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Dorothy Schildt of Boulder Junction, WI. Also surviving are grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
