Esther Sheppard Senn (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Memorial services for Mrs. Esther Sheppard Senn, 84, of St. John's Towers, Augusta, Georgia, who entered into rest April 14, 2009, will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Posey Funeral Chapel. Rev. Jerry T. Matthews officiating. Mrs. Senn was a native of Dublin, Georgia, a former resident of Smyrna, Georgia and North Augusta having made Augusta her home for past 12 years. She was a graduate of Brewton Georgia High School, the Georgia Beauty Academy of Macon and Macon Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Senn was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Augusta, the Sheffield Club, Faithful Sunday School Class, Martha Atkinson Circle, Cream of the Crop Senior Adult Choir and volunteered in the Special Education Department. She volunteered with the Community Ministry of North Augusta and United Hospice of Augusta, and received the August 1999 WJBF Channel 6 "Giving Your Best Award." She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Avis Keen Sheppard, Sr., sister of the late Anna Mae S. Mason and Pat S. Ten Hoor and wife of the late George Dewey Senn, her husband of 43 years. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Rhett and Sue Senn, Evans; a daughter, Gayle and the late Sammie Lamb, Grovetown; four grandchildren, Todd Senn, Wesley Senn, Nancy Lamb and Richmond Lamb; three great- grandchildren; a brother, Herbert Sheppard, Dublin, GA; six sisters, Opal Slappey, Macon, Nell Daniels, Wanza Soles, Mary Underwood, Martha Brantley and Johnnie Graham all of Dublin, GA. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to the Jerry T.
