A $27 thousand theft was sentenced to 5 years probation because the thief was a 50 year old woman? How liberal.

She still has $17,650 to pay.

Brown publicist claims right to charitable trust
A former publicist for James Brown has filed a federal lawsuit in Chicago claiming the singer's charitable trust belongs to her.
Jacque Hollander told The Associated Press on Wednesday that she helped create the trust to help needy children. Her attorney said that as the only surviving partner, she should control it.
Ms. Hollander has a history of legal actions against the late entertainer. In one, she claimed Mr. Brown raped her at gunpoint in 1988, but a federal judge dismissed the suit in 2005, saying she waited too long to file.

A $27 thousand theft was sentenced to 5 years probation because the thief was a 50 year old woman? How liberal.
A 16 year old and an 18 year old casually killed a 20 year old over a necklace? I'm sure these two fine citizens can be rehabilitated in a couple of weeks of incarceration. They'll both be productive members of our society when they're released later this year.
I saw a man with cigarettes near Edgefield Rd. yesterday afternoon. I'm sure he had cash, too.
"No success outside the home compensates for failure in the home."
Sad. Our young folks have lost any value or respect for human life, and any spark that they might have had left was snuffed out by drugs. What do we do about it?
Dang! Bridget M. Polack, done skated some mo'.
Polack, whom got a GET OUT OF JAIL FREE CARD, needs to work to pay back the money she stole, I agree. However, she needs to pay back with interest and attend Gamblers Annoynomous till she is cured. And perhaps a little road work. Not just get off with probation. GET REAL!
Sounds like Ms Bridget needs the Lord in her life. People trapped in these addictions are in need of some moral guidance. I hope she gets the help needed to beat this addiction.
That is a good question yvalentine. I have mentored a few young adults in my neighborhood. So far the results have and still are positive. However, the males? We as a people when working together can always find a positive solution. The teens have priorities all mixed up and need someone to guide and advise, not judge,,, Works my kids,,,(including neighborhood kids)
Young Broun has a serious problem that will only escalate. But what makes him so different from other dope heads? No one is judging him harshly in their comments. No one is saying how dysfunctional his family life must have been for him to start using drungs. No one is even saying he broke any laws other than possession of illegal drugs. No one is asking those crazy questions about where were his parents or what was he doing out at that time of night. People are reserving judgemental comments about him. Maybe they should do the same with some of the other stories printed in the AC. I truly hope Young Broun gets some help, and that his family can be strong for him throughout this trying time.
"Train up a child in the way that he should go and when he is older he will never depart from it." Does that mean if a child is raised in a fine Christian home that he will never stray from the truth. I don't believe so. But I do feel a parent lays the foundation for their children's behavior by how they raise them., however, when a child leaves home or becomes an adult, he is then responsible for his own actions. He will also never forget what he has been taught and hopefully if he is wise enough, he'll later return to those same values. A parent shouldn't beat themselves up over what their children do unless they were a negative influence in their lives to begin with. At least when a parent attempts to do everything right, they won't have to worry about what they did wrong. So is young Broun's conduct a reflection on how he was raised? Probably not. an eighteen-year-old is quite old enough to make his own decisions in life whether good or bad. The parents I come down hard on are the ones who aren't parents at all. An example would be Ms. Sears who was arrested for shoplifting and the mastermind if not directly involved in the murder of Mrs. Parsons.
Most people on here come down hard on parents on anything related to teenagers. They seem to not realize that most teenagers rebell, even those from upstanding families. My point is that most people don't take the time to realize that, and usually ask where were the parents when the kids were out so late at night. Maybe the parents were at home asleep and the brat snuck out. In young Broun's case, I think he is probably a college student gone wild, and needs to really slow down before he loses control. At 18 he thinks he can handle himself, but the maturity level is not there, and is being complicated by drug abuse.
Bridget was the commanders wife so that helped her get away with it.
