Fox News bias is glaringly obvious

  • Follow Letters

I think it's time someone took a look at the so-called "fair and balanced" aspect of the Fox News Network.

It seems to me its primary purpose is to attack anything Democratic or liberal, and to ridicule and belittle anything and everything about the Obama administration. A recent and blatant example is the laughable attempt in saying that he was trying to "take credit" for the rescue of kidnapped Capt. Richard Phillips in the Somali piracy incident. Fox News says that all Obama did was to take the advice of his advisors, and that they and the Navy SEALs should get the credit.

Well, isn't that part of his administration, and isn't he doing his job effectively?

But here is where the hypocrisy of Fox becomes so glaringly apparent: If you do watch Fox News on a regular basis, as do I, how many times have you heard the Fox talking heads refer to the "failed Carter attempt"? Using that logic, I suppose if the attempt had gone awry, it would have been "the failed Obama rescue attempt."

They can be as biased as they

They can be as biased as they want to be (and they are). Nothing more than Murdoch's right wing propoganda machine and should be seen as such. The only problem I have is the "fair and balanced" bull. Talk about false advertising!

If FOX were truly fair and

If FOX were truly fair and balanced, they'd close their eyes and report what they're told and to hell with the truth, just like all of the other broadcasters. Their system of sending out people to investigate before reporting is just mean and should stop. They're making CNN look real bad. (and ABC and CBS and MSNBC and NBC and...well, you get the idea) I guess FOX will go on spouting their "bull" while ALL of the rest of the "news" stations chant in unison.

Yes, James, if the rescue had

Yes, James, if the rescue had been terribly botched by foolish, politically correct behavior, it would have been called "the failed Obama rescue attempt". Happily, Obama voted "present" until the rescue was over and then let it be known he was running the whole operation the whole time. Good politics. I, for one, applaud his actions.

Fox news is Biased? Chris

Fox news is Biased? Chris Mathews on MSNBC gets tingly feelings in his legs when Obama speaks? CBS, ABC etc send tons of reporters to Alaska to dig dirt on Palin but can't get to Chicago ro report on Blagiovich and Emmanual and Obama in Blagoivich's last election, Obama, his wife's job and his fix (think Charlie Walker), or the corrupt elections that got Obama elected? Plain has to be vetted, then it turns out Obama is a Marxist and the "main stream press" is surprised? Fox News is baised? The mainstream press is nothing more than a mouth piece for the Democratic party!

You are right james, Keith

You are right james, Keith Olberman, Chris Mathews, Katie Couric, George Stephanopolis are all just as fair and balanced as one couild be. One of you dims will probably throw out Sean Hannity, John Gibson, or Bill Oreilly's name at me, but guess what, those three are opinion makers! They arent anchors such as the other liberals I mentioned above. Sheperd Smith, Britt Hume, Chris Wallace, are straight down the line anchor or interviewers. By the way, can you explain to me why Fox News beats the tar out of ALL of the networks on a regular basis? People are tired of bias news reporting. Your Clinton News Network and the others were really balanced on the tea party yesterday! Your letter is a joke. Good try DIM.

MSNBC and CNN have pathetic

MSNBC and CNN have pathetic ratings while Fox soars. MSNBC has Chris Matthews, Keith Olberman and Rachel Maddow every night for 4 hours. They don't bring in enough in advertising to pay the costs of the shows. Someone is behind it all. They also have a direct line to the White House talking points. Weird huh?

Hey James, why don't you turn

Hey James, why don't you turn the channel to MSNBC you idiot, and see what bias REALLY means. FOX leads them all in ratings - why? because they are fair - they report - you decide.

ignorance is a cancer that is polluting this great nation - why do you think this nation is what it is - it's because of the hard work of americans, all of you people who want to put it down, and detroy the foundation, why don't you move to cuba, or a socialist european country and see how you like it.

James: I'm not going to touch

James: I'm not going to touch the reporting bias issue; other posts here have similar thoughts to mine. However, referring to the failure of the "DesertOne" Iranian hostage event as a "Carter failure" is correct. The President is the Commander-in-Chief and is responsible (good and/or bad) for events like these. Personally, I'm happy to see Obama support these actions, when necessary and needed. Why shouldn't credit be given to the service members performing the deed?? Politicians have opportunities for credit during the next election cycle.

I stopped by Fox News last

I stopped by Fox News last night to watch the Tea Party telethon. They had some entertainers like Joe The Plumber. It was funny.

If Fox News is biased, then I

If Fox News is biased, then I guess CNN is the god of television for harrassing people in an interview. I guess Chris Matthews is feeling the holy spirit when he gets "tingly in his legs when he sees Obama".....

You all need to open your eyes. Fox always has both sides shown. At least they don't curse every five seconds, and constantly criticize Americans who just simply want to exercise their freedom of speech!

Fox was simply covering a GREAT news story! The other networks were too dumb to realize what happened yesterday was a turning point in HISTORY!

Not too dumb, carolinagirl,

Not too dumb, carolinagirl, their orders were to ignore or mock independent thinking and freedom loving Americans. If you're not a socialist sheeple, you have no value to CNN...notice how much their programing resembles The View?

Bill O'Reilly is an entertainer and commentator, he is not a news reporter, do you know the differance? Reporters are supposed to report not do editorial spin. The so called "main stream" reporters don't know the differance either, DMAC 357 you are in good company....

Who holds the most shares of

Who holds the most shares of NewsCorp, the parent owner of Fox News? Answer: Rupert Murdoch, an egomaniacal billionaire, and a psychopath with a trophy wife and two young children even though he is in his seventies, and Sheik al Azziz, a Saudi prince. Enough said?

CAROLINAGIRL, great post!!!

CAROLINAGIRL, great post!!! These libs have their panties in a wad because journalists from a network other than the usual drivebyes are actually asking some hard questions of this administration. Rule number one for libs...never question their leaders! Chris Matthews, Keith Olberman, Brian Williams, and Katie Couric may as well call themselves the Obama bandwagon. They sure as heck aren't unbiased journalists. But hey, Jim, if you are so put out with Fox News, just don't watch. See how it works?

Congratulations

Congratulations patriciathomas!! you have managed to use the words "socialist (or a variant)" and/or "sheeple" at least once each day you've posted a comment this first half April. Time to learn two new words, okay. And Fox News - 3 of their popular staff are: 1. an x-beauty queen, 2. an x gossip tv host/reporter (and i use the term 'reporter' loosely) and 3. an x drug addict turned LDS who tearfully confesses his love for America at least once a month and who, BTW looks like the kid from A Christmas Story. And the rest of Cable Spew Networks - they are going to report and produce whichever way brings in the ratings. The 'news' is simply a by-product of their productions.

patriciathomas, I don't

patriciathomas, I don't suppose the idiots who are led by a fake grassroots movement that was completely orchestrated from the top by FreedomWorks, a lobbying firm founded by Dick Armey with big money brokers involved, that defends corporate interests and cares nothing about the common people, are sheeple, are they?

Yes - the kid from A

Yes - the kid from A Christmas Story is not only a mental defective, he is dangerous. He is openly inciting the loons and crazies out there to resort to armed insurrection. Murdoch, the old idiot himself, needs to remove him. I don't see what Fox News is up to, other than of course ratings that this freak show pulls in.

I am a Fox junkie, and I

I am a Fox junkie, and I don't think they're biased at all. They invite people who have different opinions on a topic, allow them to debate their point, then ask the viewers to write in to say what they think. On that note, I have to say Fox is fair and balanced. At least they Fox gives people a chance to speak unlike the woman from the communist news network who, at a tea party, wouldn't allow a man to get-in so much as two words when asked a question. Those of you who don't like what Fox has to say turn the channel. Sometimes the truth hurts.

CNN makes no bones about being biased. They don't even give the right a fair shake in their reporting. The other three networks are also biased toward the left. Fox is our only hope.

The usual dim response to

The usual dim response to anything. No substance; just attacks on individuals. libs continue to complain and whine about those they say are complaining and whining. The perfect way to deal with this is for libs to change the channel and watch their biased liberal news.
