TWIN CITY, Ga. - Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Ednar Louise Daley Grimes, age 91, of Twin City, GA on Monday, April 13, 2009, at the University Hospital in Augusta, GA after an extended illness. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the First United Methodist Church of Twin City, GA with the Rev. Randall Smith and Rev. Perry Shelfer officiating. Interment will be in the Twin City City Cemetery. Mrs. Grimes will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends at Durden-Hudson Funeral Home Wednesday, April 15, 2009 from 6-8 PM. Pallbearers are Clark Dixon, Charles Stewart, G. W. Johnson, Jerry Hall, Mell Bargeron, Luther Bell, Herb Halwes and Cliff Gay Honorary Escorts will be Twin City United Methodist Women. Mrs. Grimes was a native of Jenkins County, a homemaker, owner of Grimes Chicken Farm, co-owner of Grimes Kwik Pic and was employed by Crestons Knitting Mill. She was a resident of Twin City, GA for over 80 years having made Evans, GA her home for the last 12 years. She was a member of the Twin City First United Methodist Church, taught Sunday school, served as WSCS President and Vice President and was a member of the Horace Durden Sunday School Class. Mrs. Grimes was President of the ECI Band Boosters and an associate member of the Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church and the Martinez United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late D.W. "Doc" Daley and Lucy Sparks Daley and preceded in death by her husband, J. Carl Grimes and son; Dr. Ronnie Grimes. Survivors include: One Daughter and Son-In-Law: Shirley Grimes Hagins and Bill Hagins of Evans, GA; One Brother: Dilmus L. Lamb of Savannah, GA; Three Grandchildren: Keith Hagins of Grovetown, GA, Ron Grimes of Buford, GA and Kendra Swager of Beaverdam, VA.; 7 Great-Grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces and nephews Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Twin City United Methodist Church, P.O.
