AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Monday, April 6, 2009 at the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home, Dr. Samuel Lee Round, husband of Mrs. Mary M. Round. Dr. Round was a college professor and the Dean of Students at GA Military Academy at Fort Gordon. He served in the US Army during WW II and was a member of Christ Church Presbyterian. Family members in addition to his wife include daughter: Shellie Smelser and husband Tom of Augusta; son: Samuel L. Round, II of Stockbridge; grandchildren: Angela McDaniel and husband Richard, T.J. Smelser, and Mary Rebecca Smelser; great-grandchildren: Kyle Zimdahl and McKinsey McDaniel. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Duncan Rankin officiating. A private internment will be held at Westover Memorial Park. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of ones' choice.
