AUGUSTA, Ga. - Marion E. "Betty" Youn Ford, 82, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 2, 2009, at her residence. Graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Sunday, April 5, 2009, at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Brian LaFavor officiating. Betty was a life-long member of Crawford Avenue Baptist Church and of the Phebean Sunday School Class. She was a beautiful lady both inside and out---a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend who sought to glorify God in her life and death. She is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis M. Ford, Sr.; brothers, Edward Youn and John Youn; and sister, Dorothy Hightower Kennedy. Survivors include her son, Curtis M. (Imogene) Ford, Jr.; daughter, Kathy (Butch) Lord; grandchildren, Melissa (Erik) Hansen, Monica (Chris) Rice, Jeffrey Lord, and Joseph Lord; five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez, Georgia 30907.
