Wilbur Y. Padgett (TRENTON, S.C.)

TRENTON, S.C. - Mr. Wilbur Y. 'Dib' Padgett, Sr., 93, husband of the late Bernice Black Padgett, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Edgefield County Hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery. Mr. Padgett was a native of Edgefield County. He was retired from Graniteville Company and a former deacon and life long member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Billy (Helen) Padgett; one granddaughter, Sandi Padgett; one brother, Herman (Mae) Padgett; one sister- in-law, Dot Padgett. He was predeceased by his wife; a daughter, Brenda B. Padgett; and a granddaughter, Laura K. Padgett. Memorials may be made to Ebenezer Cemetery, c/o Carol Clark, P.O. Box 189, Trenton, S.C. 29847. The family is at the home of his son, Billy Padgett and will receive friends Friday, April 3, 2009 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
